The MBA admission deadline for the July 2026 online intake closed on 30 June 2026 at most universities. A couple are still accepting applications, though – NMIMS Online until 10 August, and IGNOU until 15 July.

Here’s a rundown of who’s still open, what paperwork you’ll need, and how the process plays out from here.

Not quite. Amity University Online, Manipal University Jaipur, LPU Online, Symbiosis, Chandigarh University Online, Sharda University, and BITS Pilani all closed their windows on the same date – 30 June 2026.

A smaller group is running later than that:

  • NMIMS Online – open until 10 August 2026
  • IGNOU – open until 15 July 2026
  • A handful of regional universities with rolling admissions

Where Can You Still Apply?

NMIMS and IGNOU are your best bets if you’re applying late. Both are still taking students for this academic session.

IGNOU’s process is either merit-based or first-come, first-served, depending on the specialization, and the application fee is a modest ₹300. NMIMS, being a private university, generally reviews applications on a rolling basis until either the seats fill up or 10 August arrives, whichever comes first.

UniversityStatusApplication Fee
Amity, Manipal, LPUClosed (30 June 2026)₹500–₹2,500
Symbiosis, ChandigarhClosed (30 June 2026)₹500–₹2,500
NMIMS OnlineOpen till 10 August 2026₹1,000–₹2,000
IGNOUOpen till 15 July 2026₹300

Missed the Cutoff? Here’s What You Can Still Do

Missing the MBA admission deadline at one university doesn’t end the cycle. Universities that run a January intake will reopen applications later this year, and NMIMS’s rolling window gives late applicants extra breathing room.

If none of the currently open options fit what you want to study, waiting for the January 2027 session is a perfectly reasonable move, too.

A few things worth trying:

  • Apply to NMIMS or IGNOU before their extended dates close
  • Check whether any regional universities near you are running rolling admissions
  • Plan your application around the January 2027 intake instead
  • Call the admissions cell directly – universities occasionally make exceptions

What Documents Should You Have Ready?

Regardless of which MBA admission deadline you’re racing against, the paperwork doesn’t change much from one university to the next. What does change is how prepared people are for it – a missing mark sheet or an expired-looking photo ID is usually what holds an application up, not anything to do with the university itself. Scan everything in advance, and you’ll dodge that problem entirely.

At a minimum, keep these on hand: your bachelor’s degree certificate and final mark sheets, a government ID like Aadhaar or a passport, a passport-size photo in whatever format the portal asks for, a category certificate if you’re applying under reservation, and a work experience letter if your specialization needs one.

How Does the Application Actually Go?

There’s not much mystery to it. You register on the university’s portal, fill in your academic and personal details, upload your documents, and pay the fee – after that it’s mostly waiting for the university to confirm your seat and send an offer. Some portals throw in an extra step, like a short interview or aptitude test, so it’s worth checking the specific university’s page rather than assuming the process is identical everywhere.

How Should You Pick Between Universities?

Don’t choose a university just because its window happens to still be open – that’s a good way to end up somewhere that doesn’t fit. Look instead at specialization availability, fee structure, and whether the program carries UGC-DEB entitlement.

It only takes a few minutes to check a university’s NAAC grade and confirm its entitlement on the official UGC-DEB portal, and doing so upfront saves headaches later.

Deadlines and fees can shift, so it’s worth confirming the latest dates directly with each university before applying.

Frequently Asked Questions

Has the MBA admission deadline for July 2026 fully closed?

Mostly, yes – the bulk of universities closed on 30 June 2026. NMIMS and IGNOU are still open a little longer.

Can I still apply for an online MBA this year?

Yes. NMIMS and IGNOU are both open, and the January 2027 cycle is another option if you’d rather wait.

What’s the typical application fee?

Usually somewhere between ₹300 and ₹2,500, depending on the university.

Do I need work experience to apply?

No – most programs are open to fresh graduates with no prior work experience required.

Will missing one university’s deadline hurt my chances elsewhere?

No. Universities run two admission cycles a year, so a missed window just means waiting for the next one.
